Default Aston Martin DB9 - extremely pic heavy, 56k genocide

This amazing machine is owned by my client with the Range Rover Sport which I did recently. Thread here: http://www.norcal-lsx.com//forum/showthread.php?t=66419

He opted for a 3 step correction topped with Swissvax Concorso. It was absolutely great working on this machine. Moving it around, you immediately give respect to the tq that this V12 has! Stunning interior too. I couldn't stop looking at the guages. Ok, onto the detail.

Total time = 27 hours

Here are the pics!

-before-

Swirls....

Nasty exhaust tips

Swirls....

More swirls....

Wheels

P21S wheel gel soaking

Working it in with the Swissvax wheel brush...

Nice and clean!!

*the little dirt on that spoke was removed right after the pic*

Engine pictures

-before-

after

Washing time!

Stripped nicely, no wax left and ready for claying

Looks like the Meguiars Last Touch provides some *slight* and probably brief protection. Look how the water is beading up after claying it with Z18 and Last Touch.

You can see the swirls here again in the sun, now that the paint is completely clean and ready for correction.

All taped up and ready for paint correction!

Some pics of what was waiting for me. These swirls and scratches would not survive the encounter with the Makita!

These were the only 'in process' shots I was able to get of the correction unfortunately. Under the door handle.
*before*

*AFTER M105 only*

Interior befores

This headliner is so nice! And look at those visors! They are tiny! But because the roofline is soo low, they actually work quite well.

Even leather on the door sills

Wood polish time

*before*

*during* With the Swissvax Wood Polish. This stuff made the interior smell like a Cinabon restaurant! Oh so nice....

*AFTER*

Rear seats. These seats, only a 4 year old could fit....barely. I could not fit at all, no matter what I did. With the seat all the way forward and folded forward, my legs barely made it in. My neck, not my head, was touching the rear glass and i couldn't even sit all the way back. I'm only 5' 10" too! These pics were taken with the camera held underneath the rearview mirror too. That should give you an idea just how close those rear seats are.

The coolest button ever.

The coolest guages I've ever seen.

*DROOL*

Sick custom stereo

This was the end of day 2. On my way home I saw this. Now Mini is complete without a Beagle in the rear window dash....

Time for its next wash to remove any remaining polishing oils and dust.

And there is the freshly polished and clean paint.

After drying, its time to apply the Swissvax Concorso. Oh smells so good.

At the end of day 3, here are the after pics. Thanks for "reading" and enjoy the 'pron'. lol.

*the water beading on the freshly finished surface *

If you were wondering how you open the door, here's a little pic tutuorial

Open says a me!

Here are the centerfold pics

Thanks for looking!! I had a lot of fun on this car. Questions/comments welcome as always.

Thanks man! This car was a LOT of work. I used a mix of Dawn and Megs APC in my foam gun to soak the car and let the foam remove as much grime as possible before washing. After rinsing it off, then I could start the washing process.

Hadn't planned on it, but maybe I should make an appearance... You going? It'd be cool to finally meet some Norcal peeps that I haven't met before.

PM me the info.

Yup. You can do it by applicator, but by hand is more fun. I feel you kinda get to know the car through the process, or at least get inside the head of the people who were responsible for sculpting the body of this magnificent machine. That and owners love to see that stuff too.
