I would have started with some sandpaper, sealer, a gallon of whatever color I wanted, and a gallon of clear.

Pretty spectacular results!

I have the interior down to a science... You can R&R the whole thing in a couple hours or less.

If the clear has failed or is too thin, that can't be worked with really. Thanks!

Most of the jobs I do are a flat rate. The really big ones will sometimes be hourly though.

But why would you change from NBM? Its already the perfect color lol. But then again I might be a little biased.

Thanks!

Well, I'm really not big on NBM at all, but regardless, for $2500+, I could make that car almost any color I wanted, and have a fair amount of money left over. Thats all. But, I can run a gun and the money left over wouldn't be worth $25/hr in labor. Guess the interior would still need some attention though.

But that's not why you did this car, and it sure is a huge testament to your outstanding skills at detailing. It's flat out incredible.

You could do all that for 2500? Would you wetsand the whole car to eliminate the orangepeel? I only ask because some have suggested why not just repaint. Most GOOD jobs are 6k+ and typically don't include removing the orangepeel. Whats the 25/hr?

Thanks for the compliments. I appreciate it

for $2500 you couldn't come close to getting your car to look like this with a repaint. great work jeff.

Materials would be about $1000 give or take and depending on color for a BC/CC job. Most jobs don't need to be wetsanded or may only need to be wetsanded in certain areas, but sure, if you wanted perfection it could be cut and polished out for the remainder of the money left over.

I'm just saying how I would have started with the car doing the work myself, not how much a shop would charge. I don't need $80-$100+/hr. It's just like you doing the details yourself instead of through the dealership, how much would that have been?

The $25/hr was just based on someone else who said something about how much that detail would have costed at $25/hr. I was just thinking how much time it might take me to prep the car and shoot it and correct any spots of orange peel or runs and then divide it by the $1500 left over to figure out what I "made" hourly. Still have the interior to do though and unless I did a full body cut and polish, your job would look nicer.
